Chelsea have agreed a new four-year contract with young defender Levi Colwill.

who impressed for the Blues’ development squad last season in Premier League 2.

Colwill, who joined the Blues as an Under-9, established himself as a standout performer for the development squad last season.

He played 18 times in Premier League 2 and also featured twice for the Under-18s in the FA Youth Cup.

The 18-year-old’s performances caught the eye of Thomas Tuchel and Colwill trained with the first-team squad in February and during the final weeks of the campaign as cover for the injured Andreas Christensen.

Colwill, a left-footed defender who can play at centre-back and full-back, is highly thought of at Chelsea and that has been reflected in the contract offered and pathway laid out.
