Manchester United have traveled plan for Mason Greenwood if the club complete Jadon Sancho transfer.

The England international Mason Greenwood will be given more opportunities in a central forward position next season once the club completed a protracted £75million transfer for Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils are hopeful of concluding a deal for Sancho in the coming days.

With United and Dortmund said to be just £4m apart in their valuation of the former Manchester City winger.

Sancho has wanted to join United for the last 18 months and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes he is the long-term solution to United’s problems on the right flank, which hasn’t been fixed since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2013.

Greenwood was predominantly used from the right flank last season.

With the teenager only given fleeting opportunities in his favoured central role because of the presence of Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial.

However, United believe Greenwood’s future lies through the middle and they feel the addition of Sancho could free up more opportunities for the youngster to play centrally next term.

It is part of United’s transition plan to make Greenwood their next no.9 and it could mean the club can drop their interest in Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.

Once Sancho is through the door, Solskjaer hopes to add a centre-back to his squad.
