Breaking: Chelsea’s Club World Cup schedule confirmed as Thomas Tuchel learns route to glory

Chelsea have learned when their route to glory in the FIFA World Cup that kicks off in February 2021 in the United Arab Emirates.

The European Champions will take on either Al Jazira, Al Hilal or Auckland City in their Club World Cup semi final after the draw for the competition was made in Zurich.

As winners of the UEFA Champions League, the Blues enter the competition at the semi final stage and there will be four games played in the competition before Tuchel’s men take to the pitch in the UAE.

The first game of the tournament will see Al Jazira take on Auckland City in the first round. The winner of that will then face Al Hilal in the second round.

Only once that game is completed will we know who Chelsea will face out of those three teams in their semi final, which will be match number six of the competition.

We now know when the Blues will take to the field for the semi-final with FIFA revealing that February 9 will be the date when the west Londoners look to correct the mistakes of 2012 when they came up short under Rafael Benitez and co.

The game will be played at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium.

If Tuchel’s men progress from that game unscathed and still in the competition, they will be back in action three days later on February 12 at the same venue for the final.
