Man United have been hit by a Covid-19 outbreak in the squad, claims The Athletic’s David Ornstein.

It’s claimed that a small number of players and staff tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday.

Fortunately, the entire squad that traveled for the Norwich City game all tested negative.

This meant that Sunday’s group training could not take place as usual, with players only completing non-contact outdoor sessions.

United have made the Premier League aware of the situation and it’s unclear whether the game against Brentford on Tuesday will go on as usual or not.

The emergence of the highly-transmissible omicron variant has resulted in a spike in Covid-19 cases around England over the last few weeks
