Speaking to the media on Thursday, Brendan Rodgers did not take lately to being asked about rumours linking him with Manchester United.

The Leicester City manager responded to the speculations: “Firstly, it’s really disrespectful for you to ask the question.

“You have a good manager and a good man who is working at the club [Man United]. Secondly, I can’t comment on it because it’s something that’s not real.

“I’m happy and proud to be Leicester manager. I’m fully committed to this club, players, ownership.

“All the other noise around is something we can’t control, it’s frustrating to see these rumours. I’m Leicester City manager.”

Rodgers has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks despite the fact that the Man United board continue to keep faith in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ability to turn things around.

The 48-year-old has done incredibly well at Leicester despite a relatively small transfer budget and there’s belief he could be the right man for the Red Devils despite his Liverpool past.
