Bruno Fernandes wants Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make two signings as Man United ‘prepared bid for Dortmund forward’

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes wants the club to strengthen in defence and midfield, according to reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has steered his side to second in the Premier League table.

But they could yet bolster their rank when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign, with the likes of Jadon Sancho, Declan Rice and Raphael Varane all on their radar.

Fernandes has been in outstanding form for United this season.

He’s scored 27 goals across all competitions and is just three short of becoming the first player of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era to net 30 in a single season.

Fernandes has also registered 17 assists, too, propelling United to second in the Premier League table and the Europa League final in the process.

And the club now want to tie him down to a new contract.

However, according to The Sun, Fernandes wants assurances over new signings before putting pen to paper on an extension.

And it’s claimed the 26-year-old feels the Red Devils should bolster their backline and midfield as they seek a first Premier League title since Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

Fernandes often runs the most for the club – and thinks he wouldn’t need to if he was better protected.

Therefore, he feels the Red Devils need a ball-playing centre-back to go alongside Harry Maguire.

And he also wants the club to ‘upgrade’ their defensive midfield options, with Fred and Nemanja Matic paling in comparison to some of the Premier League’s other players.

In Fernandes’ eyes, he’d be able to devote more of his time and energy to the business end of the pitch if those two players were to arrive.

And the good news for the Portugal international is United do seem to be eyeing reinforcements in those areas.

Rice has been linked, with the England international flourishing for West Ham this term – helping them challenge for a place in the European qualifying positions.

The Hammers have insisted they’d only entertain offers for the midfielder in the region of £100million – but that hasn’t stopped United from eyeing a deal.

The likes of Matic, Jesse Lingard and Phil Jones could all be used as bait.

And John Murtough and Darren Fletcher, as well as Solskjaer, are all in agreement the 22-year-old would be a good signing for the club.

Regarding their defence, Varane remains under consideration.

Another player in their sights is Borussia Dortmund’s Sancho.

Man United prepare £80m bid for Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United are ready to launch an £80m offer for Borussia Dortmund forward Jadon Sancho in the 2021 summer transfer window, according to a report.

The Daily Star, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Manchester United are preparing a fresh bid to sign the England international from the Bundesliga side this summer.

The same article states that Manchester United weren’t prepared to meet Borussia Dortmund’s £100m asking price last summer but Sancho’s mixed season at the German side will have lowered his valuation.

According top the same story, the 20-time English champions have not been dissuaded from making a bid despite Sancho’s patchy form as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to bolster his attacking options.

The report goes on to add that Manchester United would also like to sign Sancho’s team-mate Erling Haaland but the Red Devils will prioritise landing Sancho this summer.

The Daily Star claim that Manchester United are confident an £80m bid should be sufficient to secure Sancho’s signing given Borussia Dortmund are feeling the financial squeeze as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
