Chelsea Fc completing 22-years deal ‘a matter of time’ the star ‘flies out’ for the transfer

Chelsea’s £42million move for Sevilla’s Jules Kounde is ‘a matter of time’ from being completed, according to reports.

The Blues are hoping to finally complete their long-term pursuit of the defender and make him their second major signing of the summer.

Thomas Tuchel promised not to make sweeping changes to his side after they sensationally won the Champions League final in May. However, the German has been keen to add a defender.

The west Londoners have completed just one major deal so far this summer, with the £97.5million acquisition of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan elevating them among the Premier League title contenders.

Third choice goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli has also been signed after his Fulham contract expired. The Croydon-born shot-stopper will provide competition to Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Centre-back Kounde is highly likely to be the next player added to Tuchel’s star-studded squad.

Local newspaper Diario de Sevilla claim that it is only ‘a matter of time’ before the 22-year-old is announced as a Chelsea player.

The player has apparently flown out of Spain and is waiting for news of his departure from Sevilla in Paris.

Tuchel has wanted to add a new defender due to a few issues in his ranks. Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger have entered the final year of their contracts and are yet to sign new deals.

Fellow centre-back Kurt Zouma seems set to join West Ham in a £25m move. Hammers boss David Moyes has confirmed that the Frenchman has completed part of his medical in Paris.

The emergence of academy graduate Trevoh Chalobah as a genuine centre-back option has not been enough to convince Tuchel to add to his ranks. It is a slight diversion on his comments a week ago, though.

After his side defeated Arsenal 2-0 last weekend, Tuchel said he would be happy with his squad if no further additions were made.

However, he insisted that he does not have the biggest squad and signings would be helpful due to the club’s long fixture list.

“I am absolutely happy with our squad and the alternatives we have,” Tuchel said.

“It’s not too big a squad, we were missing Christian Pulisic today and that meant everybody else was in the squad.

“That means we maybe don’t have the biggest squad but that we have a very competitive squad in all positions.

“This, on one hand, is necessary because we play a lot of competitions and we play the World Club Cup in December.

“We also played very long last season and there was the Euros and Copa America.

“So if we want to compete we need this level. But at the same time, it’s also important we’re a strong group, this was maybe the key for the last half a year. We played with a strong bond and a great team spirit.

“This is a challenge for the team and for me to create this atmosphere again. And that everybody is ready to take hard decisions and keep pushing the team.

“If we do this we can achieve more than we have.”

Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea set to battle it out for Atletico Madrid forward

Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea are all set to battle it out for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix.

Felix has endured a difficult start to the season for Atletico and is yet to score in five starts in the league.

Last season wasn’t much better for Felix, only managing 24 league starts.
With competition up top including French international Antoine Griezmann, Felix is often used as a rotation option under Diego Simeone.

Now, according to Fichajes, a move to the Premier League could be on the cards, with Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal all interested in signing the striker.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea will need to find a long-term replacement for their current first-choice strikers.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are both reaching the latter stage of their careers for their respective clubs, so bringing a player with a similar age profile to Felix would be a smart move.

A move to Arsenal may not benefit Felix’s development as much, with Gabriel Jesus performing exceptionally well for the North London club and still only 25 years old.

Manchester United and fellow Premier League clubs are counting down the days until they can strike-up further business in the transfer market. Erik ten Hag welcomed six players to Old Trafford during his first window and they have all made their mark in the starting XI.

Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez have all quickly become mainstays, while Antony broke a record set by Zlatan Ibrahimovic when he scored on Sunday night. That 2-1 victory over Everton also saw former Real Madrid player Casemiro handed his first Premier League start for the club.

Martin Dubravka was the other recruit, signing on a season-long loan from Newcastle.

With one eye on January and future windows, meanwhile, United are understood to still have Frenkie de Jong on their radar, while elite clubs from across Europe will be queuing up for Jude Bellingham should he decided to leave Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in the near transfer window.
