Chelsea star top of Ballon d’Or list as superb year goes on

N’Golo Kante already has a Champions League in the bag, and as it stands his France team are favourites to lift the European Championship trophy too.

If he manages that, he would be the only player to do both this year, and that would surely put him in prime position to win the Ballon d’Or.

His dominant showings in the knockout stages of the Champions League should already put him in the driver’s seat, and he’s made a good start for France too.

All he needs to do now is keep playing as he is now and he’s likely got it in the bag.

Goal.com have him at the top of their list, ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Romelu Lukaku.

Mason Mount is lurking in 16th, though if he plays for England tomorrow against Germany and the Three Lions win, he will surely be catapulted up the list closer to his club teammate.
