Cristiano Ronaldo’s Emotional Full-Time Reaction Shows How Much He Cares

Cristiano Ronaldo gave a reaction of pure passion after producing more late Champions League heroics for Manchester United on Wednesday night.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner scored an archetypal stunning leaping header from a Luke Shaw cross to complete a stunning comeback win over Atalanta at Old Trafford.

United had been 2-0 down in a dismal first half after Mario Pasalic and Merih Demiral netted before goals from Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire pulled them level.

Then, nine minutes from time, the Champions League’s all-time top scorer came up clutch for the second consecutive European night.

He celebrated with a running knee slide as opposed to his usual ‘SIUUUU’ celebration and when the full-time whistled sounded, Ronaldo was emotional.

He sunk to his knees in celebration, with his fists clenched to show just how much the win meant to him.

United had won just one in their last five matches going into the game and so the result was a huge one going into the crunch clash with Liverpool this Sunday.

The brilliant winner was Ronaldo’s 137th Champions League goal and the 140th headed goal of his glittering career.

In recent times the 36-year-old has come in for criticism for his lack of pressing in attack and questionable body language but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was delighted with his all-round game.

“I was really, really pleased with how he led the line,” Solskjaer said, as per Sky Sports.

“As a centre forward we asked him to run the channels, drop in, press more because we’re at home, of course. We want to get the crowd behind us.

“Even he was down inside his own six-yard box towards the end defending, you could see him sprinting. He did everything a centre forward should be doing, leading the line and defending.

“If anyone wants to criticise him for work-rate or attitude, just watch this game. Watch how he runs around.

“And of course the goal is just what he does better than most. The header is not on a par with his Roma one but he’s still got a leap and timing like no-one else.”
