Harry Kane reveals the Man Utd player he wants to emulate amid £150m transfer links

Harry Kane has revealed that he wishes he had the skills of Paul Pogba and the free-kick taking ability of Maro Reus.

Spurs star and England captain Kane was asked which parts of other players’ games he would like to assimilate into his own style and responded with answers including Pogba and Reus.

Kane has not had great success with free-kick taking scoring just two direct free-kicks over his entire career, so it is little wonder he named that attribute as one he would like to ‘steal’ from Reus.

“Pogba’s skills, Reus’ amazing free-kicks, Saul [Niguez’s] perfect dribbling, [Krzysztof ]Piatek’s intuition and [Gianluigi] Donnarumma’s big arm span,”.

The England captain said when naming areas of others games he would like to include into his own.

The 27-year-old was also asked what the difference was between talent and greatness and Kane put it down to mindset.

He said: “I think having a strong mindset is a big part of that I think,” he said.

“I always say self-belief and hard work are the two most important things to go along with talent. Of course, you need talent to get you a certain way but the other two are very important.

Kane ended the 2020-21 Premier League season as the Golden boot winner and the Playmaker of the Season award following a fantastic personal campaign.

The striker’s tally of 23 goals and 14 assists in 35 games saw him become only the third man to secure the golden boot and playmaker of the season double and the first since Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink achieved the feat in 1998-99.

Kane’s personal performance was not enough to help Spurs into the Champions League or Europa League spots with Tottenham having to settle for a Europa Conference League place and a trophy-less season.

The striker has cast a doubt over his Spurs future after dropping hints he would be open to a move away from the club but as yet no confirmed bids have been received.

With strong reports linking Mauricio Pochettino to a return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs fans are hopeful Kane could be persuaded to stay at the club and link up again with a man he described as the “perfect” manager.
