Ralf Rangnick has said he still cannot believe Manchester United’s performance in the first half of their Champions League round of sixteen tie against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
byAnthony Elanga came off the bench to equalise for the Red Devils after Joao Felix’s opener in the first half.
Elenga cancelled out Felix’s diving header to level things up ahead of the second-leg at Old Trafford in a couple of weeks.
Manchester United were void of ideas throughout most of the game as they struggled to create chances.And Rangnick admitted his team were outplayed in the first half.
“After the performance in the first half, it could only get better. What we played in the first half I still cannot believe.
We played without conviction, without aggression and that is why we were struggling.
“We have to play better in the first half, I was very disappointed by that performance in the first half,” he said
