Man United handed triple selection boost ahead of Leicester city fixture

Manchester United were handed a triple selection boost as they welcomed three players back to training ahead of their match against Leicester this weekend.

Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly and Jesse Lingard all reported back at Carrington on Wednesday as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side gear up for a return to action following the international break.

Bailly featured for the Ivory Coast in a 2-1 win over Malawi during the break, while Lingard started for England in their 5-0 win against Andorra but missed the 1-1 draw with Hungary this week.

Pogba starred for France as they defeated Spain to win the Nations League final on Sunday, though compatriot Raphael Varane will be out ‘for a few weeks’ after suffering an injury in the same match.

The trio’s return is a welcome boost to Solskjaer ahead of the trip to the King Power stadium this weekend with Harry Maguire also a doubt to face his former club.

Maguire insists he will be back in contention soon but the club captain also revealed he is yet to train with his teammates since suffering a calf injury against Aston Villa last month.

United were also handed another encouraging update as Ivorian winger Amad continued his rehabilitation from a thigh injury which scuppered his hopes of a loan move in the summer.

Amad, 19, was set to join Dutch side Feyenoord on loan but saw his move cancelled after the training ground injury before transfer deadline day.
