According to tier-one French outlet L’Equipe, Manchester United have ‘interviewed’ Rudi Garcia to act as an interim coach for the club at least till the end of the season.

Garcia has managed Lyon, Lille, Marseille and AS Roma in the past and is currently not in charge of any side. He has won the Ligue 1 once in 2010/11 with Lille.

The report adds that Garcia’s ability to speak English is viewed as an ‘asset’ by the United board. It would certainly make it easier to communicate with the squad.

However, L’Equipe adds that the 57-year-old is not a ‘favourite’ to take charge at Old Trafford and also lists Lucien Favre, Ernesto Valverde, Paulo Fonseca and Ralf Rangnick as potential candidates.
