Man United received HUGE BOOST as three stars back in the squad for Newcastle game tonight

Man United are getting three players back available for selection following various injury issues for the Newcastle game tonight.

It has been over two weeks since Manchester United last played. Our December has been uncharacteristically quiet due to Covid-19 hitting the squad hard.

In the grand scheme of things, it could come back to haunt us in the New Year when we’re playing matches for pretty much every midweek for the foreseeable future.

However, in the short-term, it’s probably benefitted United as they look to adjust to Ralf Rangnick’s system.

I will be the first to say that I’ve missed United over this period. Christmas has felt pretty weird without watching our boys in action. Alas, we’re back tonight against Newcastle United.

ahead of that game, we’ve been given a triple injury boost as three key stars were spotted with the squad for the match. That’s according to the Manchester Evening News.

Raphael Varane, Edinson Cavani and Victor Lindelof have all had their own problems recently. However, all three were with the squad.

Varane and Cavani have been missing for a fair while due to injury issues, while Lindelof was struggling with his breathing in our last league game. Thankfully, all are seemingly available for selection again.

It goes without saying that this will be a massive lift for the whole squad. United now have two extra bodies who they’ve not been able to call upon in months.

Varane, in particular, has been key for our defence when starting games. We’ll be far more secure with him back there – though United need to find the right balance in terms of managing his minutes, at least for the short term.

David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Tom Heaton, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Raphael Varane, Alex Telles, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic, Fred, Donny van de Beek, Bruno Fernandes, Edinson Cavani.

The remainder of the squad arrived at Manchester airport via a separate coach.
