Leicester City star midfielder Youri Tielemans reportedly has as many as five Premier League club keeping a close eye on his contract situation at the club.

Tielemans has apparently already “turned down” a contract offer to stay at the King Power Stadium beyond the end of the City’s current deal that keeps the Belgium international under contract until the summer of 2023.

The 24-year-old now looks set to enter the final 12 months of that contract this off-season, which could force Leicester to make a decision on selling for a fee while they still can or resign themselves to losing the player on a free transfer.

Manchester United are “long-term admirers” of Tielemans, having been linked with swooping for the player before the temporary move from AS Monaco was made permanent in 2019.Back in January, Arsenal were also said to be interested in making a move, but now it is being reported that almost half a dozen Premier League clubs are monitoring the situation.

London rivals Chelsea and West Ham United, who City face this Sunday, as well as Saudi-backed Newcastle United are all, according to 90min, keeping tabs on how the coming months play out before the summer transfer window opens.

This week, manager Brendan Rodgers has again addressed Tielemans’ future in an interview.

“I think, obviously, with his [Tielemans’] contract running down, then I’m pretty sure there will be teams looking at him.“But I’m also a realist, as well, and we are real as a football club.“

You’ll get people asking, ‘can you hang on to these players for the next six, seven years?’”But the reality is, if a player does really well at Leicester, he may want to leave and move on to another club. For us, it’s just being ready for that.

Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel reportedly has several unhappy attacking players who he could seek to offload before the end of the transfer window. The Blues have a large squad that will likely be trimmed over the coming weeks

Winger Christian Pulisic is rumoured to be of interest to other clubs. The USA captain is apparently one of a few forwards who feel they are limited in Tuchel’s system.

Pulisic has been linked with a loan switch to crisis club Manchester United. The 23-year-old has struggled for game time under Tuchel, despite having been in excellent form for Chelsea before the German was appointed.

But that is not the only reason that Pulisic has grown frustrated at Stamford Bridge. According to the Evening Standard, the former Borussia Dortmund man is one of ‘several’ forwards who feel their attacking talents are limited in Tuchel’s system.
