Manchester United sent £100m transfer demand

Ex-West Ham defender Julian Dicks thinks his former club should demand more than the £100million Man City paid Aston Villa for Jack Grealish last summer, if interest in Declan Rice intensifies at the end of the season.

That would mean whichever club wants to buy Rice they will have to smash the British transfer record just a year after Pep Guardiola did exactly that to bring Grealish to the Etihad Stadium.

When Grealish signed a new five-year contract at his boyhood club in September 2020, a release clause of £100million was inserted in the deal to allow a Champions League club to buy him for that price. The 26-year-old has struggled to hit top form at City so far this season after only scoring three goals in the 23 appearances he has made in all competitions.Another England international who could be set to leave the club they came through the ranks of is West Ham’s Rice.

It has been reported that Man United are the favourites to sign him ahead of a whole host of other sides who are set to put up a fight for his signature at the end of the season.
