Manchester United could be redy to help Ralf Rangnick out in January with some big transfers on the way.
While the German has been given interim charge, he will continue his time at Old Trafford in a consultancy role at least.
That is only if he is not handed the full-time role in the dugout, something that has not been ruled out.
But that also means that he will be given some degree of authority over transfers while some have already been linked but he is also keen to get the best out of his current side.
So what are the latest rumours and gossip surrounding United?
Cristiano Ronaldo admission
Cristiano Ronaldo joined United in the summer
Juventus chief Pavel Nedved has admitted United have been one of the main reasons behind their poor campaign after signing Ronaldo.
The Old Lady have had a torrid season and look destined to falter in their Serie A challenge with a spot in the top four even unlikely at this stage.
And a lot of that has been put down to the lack of firepower with Paulo Dybala their top scorer on eight goals.
Ronaldo, on the other hand, has netted 13 in all competitions for the Red Devils and Nedved admits that they have not replaced him well enough.
He said: “In terms of implementation, we are behind.
“But we must add Chiesa, [Federico] Bernardeschi and all the attacking players, who maybe as you rightly say they score between 10 and 15 goals. If they do, it means that you are in good shape.
“We lost a 30-goal player, but if our players improve the side-lines we will have a better chance of getting closer to the top spots.”

De Gea has admitted that Rangnick’s new style of play is bringing the best out of him with the club dedicated to playing high up the pitch.
The Spaniard, who had been one of United’s performers before the timely change in the dugout, has kept two clean sheets in as many Premier League games, helping his side to maximum points in the process.
Against Norwich City in particular, Rangnick and his new charges were left indebted to De Gea after a string of impressive stops earned them a narrow 1-0 victory at Carrow Road.

He explained to Sky Sports: “It’s good, we’re defending better, today we conceded too many chances but he wants me to be ready for the long ball in-behind because he wants us to play very high, I have to be focused for the whole game.
“I was feeling very good, I was enjoying the game, I was focused, I knew I had to make a couple of saves so I made them and helped the team win the game.
“Every save is important – especially when the team wins.
“I’m feeling very good, very strong, very confident. The most important thing is helping the team with my experience.”
Rangnick’s transfer shortlist
Ralf Rangnick would like some new signings at United
Rangnick is already making a huge impact behind the scenes at Manchester United.
ESPN state the 63-year-old has compiled a three-man shortlist of RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara, Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips – urging Old Trafford chiefs to take a closer look at the trio.
United’s issues in the middle of the park have been well documented this season as they failed to secure the signing of Eduardo Camavinga who joined Real Madrid.
Rangnick insists they won’t spend money for the sake of it, however, as he understands January is a notoriously hard window to do business in.
But if the right opportunity presents itself, they are willing to act on it.
He said: “My opinion on winter transfers is clear. It needs to be a player who improves the quality, who helps the team to get better. It needs to be a high quality player, no matter which area of the pitch.

“On the other hand, it needs to be a player who, if they were available in the summer, they’re available for similar conditions in the winter. Then it might make sense. It needs to be the right mentality as well as the right quality.
“For this competitive league, we need the best possible mentality. He needs to be mature enough, have a winning mentality, and for me the mentality in this league is even more crucial than in any other league in Europe.”
