Mateo Kovacic, alongside Kepa Arrizabalaga, were the two best players on the pitch last night as Chelsea struggled past Saudi side, Al-Hilal.
He was one of the positives for Chelsea on the night, despite obviously winning the game and reaching the final as well, which is essentially all that matters here.

Despite The blues struggling a bit and relying on Kepa to make two world class saves to keep them in the game, they’ve made the final and now face Brazilian opposition in Palmeiras.
Chelsea have a few Brazilian-born players in their squad, namely Thiago Silva, Jogrinho, and Kenedy, and Kovacic has said that they will be seeking their advice and words on their opposition this Saturday.
And on the subject of our great Brazilians (one Italian but Brazilian-born), Kovacic was full of praise for Silva, who again was at the heart of a Chelsea clean sheet last night and played his part to keep us in the game.
‘Thiago is one of the greatest defenders of his generation,” Kovacic said as reported by the Chelsea website.
“He has won almost everything and he brought so much experience to Chelsea. We are glad and happy to have such a great player and great personality in our dressing room.”
