‘Picked up a fresh knock’: Arsenal full-back now set to miss Tottenham clash – journalist.Arsenal defender Cedric Soares will miss one to two weeks due to a fresh knock, according to football.london’s Kaya Kaynak.

This would rule him out of Saturday’s North London derby with Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners full-back had only just come back from an injury which saw him miss the games against FC Zurich and Brentford.

Cedric Soares has picked up a fresh knock and will be out for a week or two. Really unlucky for him just after coming back from an injury that saw him miss FC Zurich and Brentford before the international break.

Though Cedric has yet to play for arsenal this season, he is not the only full-back who’s a doubt for Mikel Arteta’s side. The Gunners have also been sweating over the fitness of Kieran Tierney, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu.

However, in a separate tweet, Kaynak claimed that Arsenal are optimistic that they’ll all be fit to face Spurs.

#AFC hopeful that Thomas Partey, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu can be all be fit for Spurs. All three back at Colney and will be assessed over the coming days. Kieran Tierney should be available meanwhile as he recovers from a head injury.https://t.co/zQYpPwgT8W

Cedric previously spoke to ESPN last November, when he appeared to be out of favour for club and country. At the time, he made it clear he would fight for his place and give Arteta a selection headache.

Cedric duly returned to the Portugal fold in March 2022 as well as getting his solid run of games for Arsenal.Though he may not be a regular starter, Cedric’s attitude is just what Arteta needs in his dressing room.
