Ralf Rangnick’s scathing Luke Shaw comments from 2020 resurface with Man United appointment imminent
Ralf Rangnick is set to become Manchester United’s interim manager for the rest of the 2021/22 season. The news were first reported by The Athletic on Thursday and then confirmed by every major British outlet.
However, there is one player at Old Trafford who might not be looking forward to the German specialist taking over at the club — even on a shirt-term basis.
Speaking back in September 2020, Rangnick said: “Manchester United could do with a left-back, I know they have Luke Shaw but I’m not so sure if he’s still on the same kind of level you need for a club like Man United.”
To be fair, Shaw went on to have the best season of his career in 2020/21, culminating in the Englishman’s incredible performance at Euro 2020.
