Ralf Rangnick makes final decision on Donny van de Beek ahead of January transfer window
Manchester United v BSC Young Boys: Group F – UEFA Champions League
Van de Beek hasn’t started in the league this season
Ralf Rangnick will not allow Donny van de Beek to leave Manchester United during the January transfer window.
Van de Beek was persistently overlooked by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following his arrival from Ajax in the summer of 2020.
The Dutchman was handed just 62 minutes of Premier League game time under the Norwegian this season, failing to start a single game.
While many expected his situation to swiftly improve under Rangnick, van de Beek has only been used as a late substitute in the German’s two league games in charge – starting in the much changed XI in the Champions League dead rubber against Young Boys.
However, The Mirror report the 24-year-old is ‘valued’ by Rangnick and will not be allowed to leave in the New Year.

Departures are expected in January however with Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard the most high profile exits.
Martial’s agent last week revealed the France international will be pushing for a move in order to secure more game time.
Lingard meanwhile is poised to enter the final six months of his contract at Old Trafford with January the club’s last opportunity to cash in on the England international.
West Ham United and Newcastle United are battling for Lingard’s signature but Martial’s pleas to leave the club have so far fallen on deaf ears.
Latest reports claim Martial’s £250,000-per-week salary is putting off any potential suitors with United yet to receive a single serious enquiry for his services.
