Manchester United are in search of a forward and reports are heavily linking them with Austrian international, Marko Arnautovic.
As per a story covered by La Gazzetta Dello Sport today (news image provided below), the Red Devils are pushing to lure the former Stoke City star but Bologna are resisting.
Transfer: £54.7million creative star willing to finally agree Man United move – Corriere dello Sport
The Italian news source claim the Old Trafford outfit have made an offer worth 8 million euros to the Serie A side.
Moreover, Man Utd are ready to agree a deal worth 3 million euros a year (£50,000-a-week) with the 33-year-old striker.
GdS state that Arnautovic is currently earning around 2.7 million euros a year i.e. the highest salary in the history of Bologna. So, the £50,000-a-week contract offer from United would have got the player thinking.
The Rossoblu are insisting that the veteran is not for sale but things could change.
Last season, the 102-capped international featured in 35 games in all competitions for the Italian side and found the net 15 times.
Arnautovic is a proven Premier League player. He impressed for the Potters and also for West Ham United during his time in England but in all fairness, he has never been world-class.
The Austrian will turn 34 in April 2023 and Ten Hag does not need a short-term fix. The Dutch coach needs a young and quality striker to eventually replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
