Tottenham Hotspur are in extensive talks to sign central defender Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona this summer.
ESPN report that Spurs have been in discussions for weeks now over the prospect of getting the Frenchman on a temporary basis.
Barca’s financial troubles are well known and they would prefer a permanent exit for Lenglet.
But they understand the reality of the situation and are willing to accept a loan deal in order to get him off the wage bill and balance the books.

Lenglet is apparently open to leaving the Nou Camp, despite having chosen to stick around in previous windows during their financial plight.
It remains to be seen if the Premier League appeals to him, but Barca are hoping that it does as they look to reshape their squad.
Xavi has already told Lenglet he is not part of his plans and encouraged him to leave the club before the window closes.
And Tottenham are looking for a new central defender to bolster their back three, with their search spanning far and wide.
Lenglet has been described as ‘world class’ at times but his career has lost its way at Barca, where he has slipped down the pecking order
