Revealed: Man United’s average weekly wage reaches record figures
Today, Man United have boasted about their increasing revenue and decreasing net debt which is undoubtedly good for the club’s financial health.
However, another revelation was about the team’s wage bill that has increased by 23% and stands now at £354 million per year.
To put it into perspective, football finance expert Kieran Maguire calculated the average weekly wage of a Man United player. As it turned out, it has reached £164,000 a week – a club record:
The signings of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane played a huge role in the increase: they are first-, third-, and fourth-biggest earners on the team.
It’s a pity that such an investment barely registers on the pitch: Man United are already nine points adrift in the Premier League title race as they have won only once in six games in the competition
