There aren’t too many players in world football that you could say would walk into any starting line up around, but Chelsea certainly have one of them according to the boss himself.
Chelsea beat Tottenham yesterday 3-0 in their onw back yard, and a big part of this was a genius tactical decision by Thomas Tuchel at half time, switching formations and making a key change in midfield.
He bought off the more advanced playing Mason Mount, and he bought N’Golo Kante on to do the box-to-box role and help strengthen up a weak looking midfield from the first half.
Of course it made an instant impact and Kante even scored a goal.
The player who could walk into any team in the land, or the player that ‘everyone is looking for’ in the words of Tuchel, is of course N’Golo Kante.
Tuchel was speaking after the win yesterday, as reported by Football London.
“He is a top player. If you have N’Golo, you have something everyone is looking for. You have everything that you need in midfield with work rate, intensity, ball wins, skilful play, off the ball, with the ball, dribbling and even a goal.
“I see this every day in training and it is hard to believe how good he is. He doesn’t make a fault in ball wins. He plays excellent in every possession game in training. He is a unique guy.
“There’s no more words needed from me. We have a strong midfield together with Jorgi and Kova in the second half. N’Golo is N’Golo. He is fantastic.”
