What’s Happening At United This Week?

The week ahead is set to be action packed for Manchester United, with Champions League, Premier League and Women’s FA Cup fixtures all set to be played in the next seven days.

United face Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, before hosting Watford at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.

And the first team aren’t the only side in action this week, as United Women host Manchester City on Sunday in the Women’s FA Cup, while the Under-18s and Under-23s have FA Youth Cup and Premier League 2 fixtures on Thursday and Friday.

In addition, there are a whole host of anniversaries and birthdays that we will be celebrating across the week.Here is how the next seven days look for United…

MONDAY

It marks the anniversary of the death of United legend Duncan Edwards, who sadly passed away on this day in 1958 after the Munich Air Disaster.

On this day last year, Shola Shoretire made his senior debut, against Newcastle United, while Phil Jones celebrates his 30th birthday. Many happy returns, Phil!

TUESDAY

Ahead of Wednesday’s Champion’s League match against Atletico, Ralf Rangnick will host his press conference.

WEDNESDAY

United play the first leg of the Champions League round-of-16 tie against Atletico at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Wednesday night, with kick-off set for 20:00 GMT.

The fixture is being broadcast on BT Sport in the UK and, as usual, you can follow matchday coverage across all our official platforms.Wednesday also marks two years since Bruno Fernandes scored his first goal for the Reds.

The Portuguese midfielder has now scored 49 times in 113 appearances for United.On this day in 2002, the statue of Denis Law was unveiled in the Stretford End.

THURSDAY

United Under-18s are in FA Youth Cup action on Thursday, hosting Leicester Under-18s in the quarter-finals of the competition.
