‘Would walk into any top European team’, ‘completely fair’: United fans react to latest Van de Beek update

In the latest update on Donny van de Beek, Fabrizio Romano has pointed out that the Dutchman ‘loves’ Man United but he’ll have to leave Old Trafford if he remains a fringe player.

This season, the 24-year-old has played just 15 minutes in the Premier League, and most of the Man United fans have a lot of sympathy for the player’s situation.

Isserley_: “Completely fair. No idea why this transfer happened. Will go down as one of the all-time strangest.”

adarsh5: “Great! Lose Pogba for free and lose his supposed replacement as well.”

eraticwatcher: “Good for him. It’s one thing not getting the odd start, it’s another not getting the odd 15-20 minute cameo. But VDB genuinely only gets like 5 minutes at best once a month. Wish him the best wherever he goes, top player.”

Reemahs: “10/10 man-management. Ole proving once again that when it comes to man-management he is one of the best.”

@KellyGitahi: “I support Donny leaving if Ole doesn’t play him. A talent this much should not be on the bench. Donny would get into any XI of any top club in Europe.”

@drucker_seth: “Potentially losing a top player because United won’t make a bigger needed change…”

@Blakey_78UTD: “Such a shame if he goes before he gets an extended run in the team. Can’t say I blame him though. His career is stagnating at United right now.”

Biola Anifowose: “Ole knows how to kill talents, but doesn’t know how to raise one. Pity we have him as our manager!”

Creed: “I really feel sorry for Van De Beek, top, top talent and he can’t make our team, Van De Beek would walk into any top European team and start, I bet if he goes to Barca he’ll be a starter every week.”

Fran: “Ole will remain stubborn so I can’t see anything changing with Donny sadly. Another team will reap the rewards if he goes… I’d hate to see it happen, but I wish nothing but the best for him.”

RUCK4444: “He’s only being sold if we choose to sell him. Which we won’t becuase any new manager might have a bigger role for him.”

Ralph1386: “Would be interested to see what Donny goes on to achieve for the rest of his playing career, versus what Ole goes on to achieve for the rest of his managerial career. Future looks brighter for Donny, in my opinion.”

Pexbo: “Translation: Donny is hoping to outlast Ole because he believes he could make it here under a new manager. If Ole is still here in January Donny will ask to leave
